Error :: Access denied; you need the SUPER privilege for this operation.

While running an SQL query via phpmyadmin, If you are getting an error like this: "1227 - Access denied; you need the SUPER privilege for this operation "

Fix:

You have to give super privileges to the user. It can be done in two ways:

1. Through phpmyadmin

Go to PHPMYADMIN > privileges > Edit User > Under Administrator tab Click SUPER. > Go

2. Via konsole

# mysql

mysql>use databasename;

You can turn off this feature to get a quicker startup with -A
Database changed

mysql>grant SUPER on *.* to 'user'@'localhost' identified by 'password';
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.02 sec)

mysql> flush privileges;
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.01 sec)

This will fix the issue.:)
